Can anyone identify this cat's breed?

Hello, guys.

I have a question about a cat of mine and was hoping that some of you might be able to help me.

The attached photo is a cat of mine, Angel. She's 15 years old now, and I've always assumed she was an American Shorthair. The woman I bought her from did not know a whole lot about her background - she had found Angel's mother pregnant and simply took care of her while the kittens were born.

The reason I began to doubt that she was some variation of an American Shorthair was that her coat is a much different texture than any other american shorthair I've seen. It's very silky, smooth, and soft, and almost has the "silver halo effect" seen on some korats. Is that a possible variation on American Shorthairs?

You must have posted a biger picture of your cat so we can actually know or decide what is the real breed of the cat itself. Anyway, as I made my research, your cat has a resemblance to an American shorthair according to your own descriptions. Sites will somehow give you the answer you've been looking for. But for the meantime, you have to post bigger photo of your pet here so we can distinguish it.
