Hi everyone!
I wanted to know if someone could tell me what kind of Siamese cat she is..? She is very long limbed and very lanky.
She just showed up at my door a few weeks ago and I know nothing about her. She is extremely lovable but doesnt like to be held too much. As long as she is in charge of the attention being given she is wonderful. She loves to climb up my husband and perch on his shoulders while he is standing. At night, she wants to be in the bed, but not under the covers. She sleeps ontop of the blankets sitting on the highest point of whoever is in the bed. Its like she loves heights.. we call her Macy Butters and she knows her name.
I have no info about her. I do not know her age or where she came from. She just appeared on our doorstep one day. She gets along with all our other animals including our two house rabbits and our chihuahua. She even took very well to one of our cats that had given birth a few months ago. She doesnt try to nurse, but she acts like Bella (the mom cat) is her mom.
I would appreciate any info (or what I can expect having a siamese for the first time) on her as I have never had a siamese before.

Hi all,

I'm working with a team in LA that's producing a makeover show for pet-owners, and I wanted to reach out to those of you in the Southern California area and interested! If this isn't the proper section to post this in, please let me know. Thanks!

----

Emmy-award winning television production company is looking for single women with pet cats who want to get back into the dating scene as soon as possible and receive a free makeover.

Having a pet can be an incredibly fulfilling experience, but if you find yourself caring more for your pets than you do other people, or if you have a friend who wishes they weren’t single but can’t separate themselves from their cats, we want to hear from you!

Do you, or does someone you know:
-	Worry about leaving your cats at home alone on a Friday night?
-	Reject a date if your pet doesn’t like them?
-	Have pictures of your pets in your purse, and no one else?
-	Own a sweater or hat that features a cat (or cat hair)?
-	Photoshop pictures of your cats, just for fun?

If so, you might be just who we’re looking for! This is not a mean-spirited show. We want to give someone a fresh start in the dating world and offer a few pointers along the way about how to balance pet-care with heavy petting!

We are looking for women who:
-	Are located in the Los Angeles area
-	Are between the ages of 25-40
-	Have at least one pet cat

The show will provide you:
-	A FREE STYLE MAKEOVER!

If this sounds like you or a friend of yours, e-mail us at castshow6030@gmail.com and tell us why you think you’d be a good fit for this show! ASAP!

I just introduced myself, and now I'm heading to the Maine Coon forum to ask a specific question. I believe my 4 month old rescue is a Maine Coon, or at least a mix based on her features. I'm having some difficulty keeping her active and interested in any toy for more than a short time. Her pattern so far seams to be that she plays with a new toy for a few hours, it appear she 'figures it out' and then loses interest.

After a couple of days chasing a laser pointer around, one day she stopped dead in her tracks, looked right at me, back at the red dot, then ran to my lap and started pawing at the laser pointer in my hand as if she understood where the red dot was coming from.

I've trained dogs for quite a time, but never had a cat and I am astounded at how intelligent this young animal is and how fast she can learn. Any advice to keep an active mind entertained for more than a few hours?

My wife and I recently adopted a rescue cat from our local humane society and named her Nari. The two of us were originally looking for a Ragdoll or a Maine Coon, but our current finances don't allow us to pay what several breeders were asking. When we set eyes upon this 4 month old kitten, two things stood out. First of all, she was by far the mildest tempered cat in the entire shelter, very gentle and affectionate. Secondly, I couldn't believe she was only 4 months old as she was already nearly as large as a full grown cat.

We took her home on the spot, and started researching to figure out WHAT exactly we had brought home. A few days later, I spoke with a friend of mine who fosters cats in the local area, and she identified Nari instantly as a Maine Coon. I'm still awe struck that someone would abandon this little sweet heart, as she's really become a member of the family in a short time.

Hello I know other people have asked this question sorry! I have 2 children aged 3 & 4 I live in a house with a small garden and we are thinking about getting a family dog. I like small terrier type dogs like westies but my partner likes bigger dogs like german shepherds. We are looking for a dog which would be friendly and easy to train and hopefully get on with young children and cats. I would also prefer an easy to care for dog which doesn't need constant attention and grooming. Thank you for your help.

Additional Details
Mandy P - I didn't mean that the dog would get no attention it would have to contend with two kids. I mean I want dog who will go settle down not barking and running around all the time.

Thank you Dr X we have been discussing getting a dog for a while now and my boyfriend and I have owned dogs in the past so we know what a commitment it is.

Hello, guys.

I have a question about a cat of mine and was hoping that some of you might be able to help me.

The attached photo is a cat of mine, Angel. She's 15 years old now, and I've always assumed she was an American Shorthair. The woman I bought her from did not know a whole lot about her background - she had found Angel's mother pregnant and simply took care of her while the kittens were born.

The reason I began to doubt that she was some variation of an American Shorthair was that her coat is a much different texture than any other american shorthair I've seen. It's very silky, smooth, and soft, and almost has the "silver halo effect" seen on some korats. Is that a possible variation on American Shorthairs?

If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate it. Let me know if I can provide any further information that might be helpful. Thanks, guys!

PS - This is the only photo I have of her here, I should be able to post a more helpful one later. For reference, her eyes are golden-green. Thanks again!
McCarthy is one of my favourite author and I was disappointed at first with this novel: the aging author is no more the incredible prose stylist he was in Blood Meridian (a fantastic 'western', highly recommended) and his other books, he now writes in a much simpler way that's hard to believe is the effort of someone who's elevated English prose to his level, but by the end my appreciation changed. Not one of his best, but still good and very moving.
Now reading the latest from arguably the finest contemporary French novelist, Richard Millet. If anyone is curious, I'd suggest they try 'Ma Vie Parmi les Ombres' (My life amongst shadows, for a literal translation), a great novel.

In your opinion, what's been the best/your favourite film of '09 thus far?

I'm going to put a few movies that have yet to be released on the poll so that you can potentially vote on those when you see them.

For me, Inglorious Bastards has been my favourite movie of the year. To me it just delivered on all levels and then some; Christoph Waltz was freaking amazing and overall it was the most fun I've had at the movies this year.

I am soon to be living on my own and feel the time is right to have a cat. I am hoping someone could help me with a breed type

Lifestyle:

I work between 830 - 5.30
I will be home at night and the majority of the weekend (I'll only be out for a few hours anyway!)
I'd rather not spend too much time grooming (ie: weekly not daily)

What I would like in the cat:
Something Loyal
Needs to be able to live inside all the time (I have wildlife around)
Something that will love me as much as I love it!
I dont mind if its vocal/has a fun personality
Something that likes to cuddle or sit on my lap!
May need to be able to live with a dog

I would value anyone's help in this.
